Care

Wash in the dishwasher or by hand. Stand it upright to dry. Oiling is not required. Read the full care guide.

Delivery and returns

Wood that goes in the dishwasher

Accoya® is acetylated pine. The wood’s cell structure is changed permanently, so it no longer absorbs moisture the way ordinary wood does. It does not swell, does not warp – and survives the dishwasher time after time.

Does the Lautio cutting board survive the dishwasher?

Yes. Lautio is acetylated Accoya® pine, which withstands the dishwasher. Take the board out right after the cycle and let it dry standing upright.

Does the board shed microplastics?

No. Lautio is solid wood without plastic or coatings. A plastic board can shed microplastic particles into food as knife marks build up.

What does Accoya® mean?

Accoya® is acetylated pine. The wood is treated with an acetic-acid derivative so that its cell structure changes permanently and no longer reacts to moisture the way it used to. The treatment is non-toxic.

Does the board need oiling?

No. If you like, you can oil the board with a food-grade oil to deepen the tone of the wood.

Which size should I choose?

Small suits breakfasts, Medium is the best all-round size for everyday cooking, and Large is for big prep and serving.

Does the wood darken with use?

The light surface gains a natural patina with use. That is normal for wood and does not affect the board’s life.

Can the board be used for serving?

Yes. The thin, light construction makes it a natural serving board – especially the Large size.
